Although his daily life at the sanctuary was busy, Ron spent a lot of time working on his books, gaining inspiration from a number of the residents at Wolf Hollow including Tundra, Taiga, and Wilfred. At the time of their move to Gooderham, R.D. was working on his book "The Shark" and one of his most famous works, "In Praise of Wolves", both of which had their origins on this Underwood Typewriter.
