Over the years, the Lawrences would foster many more injured and abandoned wild animals including wolves, foxes, porcupines, skunks, chipmunks, and raccoons. Most of the animals were housed in enclosures outside, but Wilfred and other raccoon guests had a snug home up in the attic of the garage at Wolf Hollow.

Ron often used this gas mask as a safety feature when he was cleaning out the loft in the garage where the raccoons were wintered.
